Thinking back to the events of the 2016 presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, moderated by Lester Holt, I recall how disappointed I was with Trump’s failure to educate people whenever Hillary attacked him. He assumed people were more knowledgeable than they are.

Trump became too defensive instead of elaborating on his reasons for everything Hillary accused him of doing. But Hillary wasn’t any better. She cited “facts” that were totally wrong.

Trump’s Bankruptcies are Misunderstood

When Hillary attacked Trump about his four bankruptcies (she said six), he should have talked about how he saved dozens of his companies during the Real Estate bust, thanks to his ability to negotiate with the banks. That negotiation saved thousands of jobs. Only four companies failed. The media never talks about the ones that he saved.

Trump should have turned that attack from Hillary around by explaining that she does not have the ability to negotiate and get the better part of the deal.
